Capstone Quarters

Operation Lakeshore is our way of thanking the servicemen and women and their families who have sacrificed so much for our freedom. This cottage-style housing will allow Lakeshore Foundation to expand their injured military programs by providing longer visits with more individualized attention for our country’s servicemen and women.  However, the real benefit these injured veterans will receive from this project is being able to bring their entire family with them to share in their experience of regaining a healthy, active & independent lifestyle. The Cottages will provide housing with a private, home-like atmosphere, allowing the family members and the injured veterans to collectively gain confidence as to what is still physically possible, and to bond with the other injured military members and their families experiencing the same or similar physical, mental and emotional challenges. As a result, both the injured veteran and their family members realize that the injury, regardless of the severity, is not as limiting as it was thought to be before they came as a family to Lakeshore. Many participants say their experience has been transformational as they gain hope for a better future.
